The Firebirds Track Club is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of providing a track and field program for all interested youth in Montgomery County, MD between the ages of 6 and 18. The Firebirds Track Club provides oversight and direction of the track program. The Gaithersburg Firebirds is the trademarked name of the track team. We strive to improve the self-confidence, character and physical performance of every child that competes in our program.
 
Our mission is to:
  • successfully train and develop our youth to become more knowledgeable about track and field and to reach his/her optimal achievement level of competition
  • prepare our athletes to compete in the classroom as well as the track
  • reduce the growing problem of childhood obesity by getting kids moving towards an active lifestyle.

The Firebirds Track Club is a member of the PVA (Potomac Valley Association) USA Track & Field (USATF) Organization. USATF is the national governing body for track and field, long distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF encompasses the worlds oldest organized sports, the most watched events of the Olympics, the #1 high school and junior high school participatory sport and more than 50 million adult runners in the United States.  All Firebirds athletes will be registered with USATF and will have the opportunity to participate in track & field events on a local, state, regional and national level.
