The Firebirds Athletic Club is a 501-C3 non-profit organization established for the purpose of providing a track and field program for all interested youths in Montgomery County between the ages of 6 and 18. The Firebirds Athletic Club provides oversight and direction of the track program. The Gaithersburg Firebirds is the trademarked name of the track team. We strive to improve the self-confidence, character and physical performance of every child that competes.

The Firebirds is a member of the Potomac Valley Association of USA Track & Field. USA Track & Field (USATF) is the National Governing Body for track and field, long distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF encompasses the worlds oldest organized sports, the most watched events of the Olympics, the #1 high school and junior high school participatory sport and more than 50 million adult runners in the United States.

The Firebirds has produced County, State, Regional and National Champions in each of our past 24 seasons. The Club has held a number of National records in the past.
